Why Bear?

Founded by Ashley Fellows, a Quantity Surveyor by trade and Joe Palmowski, a skilled bricklayer and contracts manager. Ash and Joe have worked together over the past 7 years, with a combined 15 years of experience in the construction industry. Ash started his career by completing an apprenticeship after his A Levels, this provided Ash with not only the knowledge of how to carry out the role, but also the valuable opportunity to work on site when possible to grow as a QS and understand the construction element, rather than just from an office perspective. Joe started his career in the construction industry as a bricklayer, perfecting his trade and progressing towards a role in contracts managing. Throughout his journey, Joe has developed strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of project management, all of which contribute to his success in overseeing construction projects.

I employed BEAR to replace my old patio with a new porcelain paved area along with new fencing and gate. Once our neighbour saw the new tiling, they asked BEAR if they could also carry out porcelain installation to their property. BEAR did this alongside finishing my project and also saved us a bit of money as we were able to share the skip and spare materials with our neighbour. Both our projects completed over a 3 week period with some overlap, and we are both extremely pleased with not only the finish, but the service and amenability was second to none!

We received a quote for a media wall from a dedicated media wall installer but unfortunately it was over our budget. We asked Ash for a price and he was over £2k cheaper. Joinery, plastering, electrics and decorated all within 2 weeks.

We were one of the first clients that BEAR carried out work for but you would think it was their thousandth job. Very organised, knowledgeable and great communicator!

We employed Ash to take on our garden project renovation inclusive of composite decking to suit our existing hottub, porcelain paving, realigning existing fence, rendered bar, outside lighting and associated planting and decorative finishes. We are over the moon with the finished outcome and have recently had Ash back to replace the doors throughout our house and install us a media wall.

BEAR replaced our old brickwork boundary wall and block paved driveway. We weren’t really sure on what we wanted so Ash provided us with a few different options and brickwork layout sketches for the wall. His attention to detail was great and we resulted in a red brick wall to match the house, with red block paviours in the main. He provided a blue cobble edging and tied this in with the wall by building in some blue brickwork diamonds to give us something with a bit more style than just a standard wall. The lads were great and on the job daily from start to finish which meant they were finished in just over a week. Great service, competitive price, and all round excellent company!
